Candid Camera!

Picture
I was at a party on the fourth of july, pleasant day, beautiful weather and fun all around.  While at the party there was another mom who is a beautiful photographer and she was snapping candid photos of all the fun.  She snapped this one of my youngest (wee one) and I.

As soon as I saw the picture I did what almost every woman I know does, I started to pick out the flaws I had.  My arms need toning, my hair has gray roots, I should do something about those crows feet and why do I look so washed out?  Then it hit me, if all I do is look at the faults I continually tear myself down.  Why not instead look at the beauty of the sweet baby I have the privilage of holding, the lines I have from smiling all these years and the fun I was having that day. (This picture was taken about 2 minutes after I happened to be in the way of a teen water spalshing battle and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time).

God created each of us to be unique individuals and though we have our flaws, both visible and not, we are his creations designed for his purposes.  Therefore, I am going to try not to be so hard on myself...try it sometime.
