Surprise!

Mama kitty (thus named because she just had a litter earlier this spring) surprised us this morning as we were heading out to church.  Two of my children were heading out to get in the car when they said "mama's gonna have the babies today!"  I asked how they had this infinate wisdom.... they advised because she wasn't her normal loving self and had been howling at them when they came near to the crate she was lying in.  Sure enough, just as I peeked in on her to be sure she was doing fine, there emerged a little mew.  I saw an adorable black and white little one.  One of my daughters was fascinated to watch the process (makes teaching the birds & bees oh so simple later) but alas, we would be late to church.  So we gave mama a can of tuna to help her stay strong and off we went...
We returned this afternoon to 5 littles.  So cute and this mama kitty is a very protective and good mama.  The children were so excited to see what color the little kittens were and see them squirming about.  I think their mama is proud!
