The Way Grandma Used To...

This is a photo of my grandmother when she was just 19 years old.  This is a woman who was born just after the Great Depression started and who was raised before electric or indoor plumbing were common in all homes.  She was a country girl and even now can share so much wisdom from days gone by that I cherish time spent chatting with her.

When I write these "The Way Grandma Used To..."  I am speaking of a whole generation of women, not just my grandmother, though many of the stories come from information she has shared with me.  I feel a certain romantisized nostalgia for the simpler times when things were done the old fashioned way.  Enjoy reading some of these memories and posts I have done with grandma in mind.
